California College has worked closely with thousands of students from all over the world and we're looking forward to working with you. Once you submit your application, your personal Admissions Advisor will guide you through the admissions, visa, and registration process. The minute you enroll at California College, a caring team of faculty and staff will support you all the way through graduation.

Application Checklist

1. Application
  • Application. You must submit your application online. You'll first create a CAC ID in your application portal and share key information like your areas of interest.
  • Essay. The essay is your time to shine and communicate why you want to pursue a degree and how it will help you achieve your career goals. (350 words for undergraduate applicants, and 500 words for graduate applicants.)
  • Application Fee. You will be able to submit the application fee : $35 for undergraduate study or $50 for graduate study.  
  • Application Deadlines:
       Spring (April) Early Admissions Enrollment Period*: Oct 1 — Feb 10
       Spring (April) General Admissions Enrollment Period: Feb 10 — April 15
       Fall (September) Early Admissions Enrollment Period*: Oct 1 — Mar 15
       Fall (September) General Admissions Enrollment Period: Mar 16 — Jul 1
*Early Admissions Enrollment
You should plan to complete your admission by the Early Admissions Enrollment Deadline if any of the following hold true:
 
  • California College is your first-choice college/university
  • You seek scholarship/grant funding from a government sponsored funding program and/or are eligible for matching funds through a collaborative funding agreement between California College and your Government.   
  • You wish consideration of a competitive academic scholarship.
  • California College has a limited number of partial scholarships and early admissions is required.   
  • Priority scheduling
  • In all cases, you should identify and discuss funding with your financial sponsor prior to applying to California College.
  • We will continue to admit candidates throughout the General Admissions period until program enrollment limits are met . 
 
2. Transcript & Documentation
  • Transcript. You can upload or send your high school transcript, diploma, and any applicable external exams by email to CAC. 
  • English Proficiency. If English is not your native language, please submit proof of English proficiency. Non-native English speaker proof of English proficiency
  • College Credits. You can upload or send your transcript (from all institutions attended) by email to CAC. 
  • Tests. Standardized testing is not required for admission into our masters program. However, GRE may be required for the MAT program. 

3. Interview
  • Schedule your interview. Your interview with an advisor can be by phone, Zoom, and Skype. Once you submit your online application, an advisor will be connecting with you to set up an interview. 

4. Admissions Decision
  • Decision. You will receive a decision from the California College Admissions Committee promptly via email once all checklist items have been submitted.

How to Submit Your Documents

After completing and submitting the online application, applicants will need to provide to the International Admissions office through uploading documents on the Admissions portal the following: 
 
Undergraduate Admissions for Associate and Bachelor’s Degrees: 
 
  • High School transcript and diploma
 
  • University or College transcript - Transcripts from any previous degree or diploma must be mailed directly to California College’s International Admissions office to receive credits. Unofficial transcripts may be sent for admissions review. A translation must accompany non-English transcripts. We accept evaluations from the translation companies below.
 
  • Non-native English speaker proof of English proficiency
 
  • High School external exams, if applicable
 
 
Graduate Admissions for Master’s Degrees: 
 
  • Bachelor Degree transcript and diploma

  • Prior Master Degree transcripts - Transcripts from any graduate degree program must be mailed directly to California College’s International Admissions office to receive credits. Upon approval, The Graduate School can accept a maximum of two courses. Unofficial transcripts may be sent for admissions review.

  • Submit professional resume and two letters of recommendation. Online letters of recommendation can be accessed on the online application portal.

  • Non-native English speaker proof of English proficiency

Unofficial transcripts may be sent for admissions review. For transfer credit consideration, official transcripts must be mailed or emailed directly to California College’s International Admissions office. A translation must accompany non-English transcripts.

Foreign Transcript Evaluation Companies

University or College Transcript - Transcripts from any previous degree or diploma must be mailed directly to California College’s International Admissions office. Schedule your interview.
We want to hear more about your educational goals in the United States, your career aspirations, and get to know you better as a person. Your interview will be set up by your advisor once you submit your online application. Your interview can be done by phone, Zoom or Skype.

Undergraduate Degree Assessment Guidelines

  • For applicants from countries where English is the primary language and who have earned a high school diploma or associate degree in English: 
     
    California College will waive the English test requirement. The 350-word admissions essay will be reviewed by the English department for placement into the correct English level course. 
     
  •  For applicants from countries where English is not the primary language but who have earned a high school diploma or associate degree in English:
     
    California College will waive the English test requirement. The 350-word admissions essay will be reviewed by the English department for placement into the correct English level course. 
     
  •  All other applicants must submit TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo test score. Please note that the Duolingo test is preferred.   
     
    Applicants who are required to take an English test must take one of the tests listed below and score the following for direct admissions to undergraduate degree programs. The college recommends the Duolingo as best option based on convenience and price. 
    ​
  •  Duolingo Score: 90 or above 
  • TOEFL: 65 or above 
  • IELTS: 6 and above

Graduate Assessment Guidelines

  • For applicants from countries where the primary language is English and who have earned a bachelor’s degree in English:
 
California College will waive English test requirement and the writing assessment requirement. 
​
  •  For applicants from countries where the primary language is not English but who have earned a bachelor degree or first master’s degree at an English language college or university:
 
California College will waive English test requirement but the writing assessment is required. Students with a prior Master’s degree from a U.S. university will be exempt from the English Test requirement and writing assessment. 
  •  All other applicants must submit TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score and take the writing assessment. Please note the Duolingo test is preferred.
 
Applicants who are required to take an English test must take one of the following tests below and score the following for direct admissions to the master’s degree programs. The college recommends the Duolingo as best option based on convenience and price.
